I’m very hesitant to sign the package. Today, I was asked to hand it over as “they must be couriered urgently“.
Yeah, right!
It is my life and my future that are at stake here so the world will wait until I made up my mind which is very far from the case.
This ‘urgency’ in addition to some rules that apply in ways that do not, systematically, favor the employee make me feel like digging my eels even deeper in the ground.
Truth is I kind of sense the end of my stay here and I’m not confident at all about what my prospects are if I ever decide to not prolong my contract and return home.
The equation is such: signing implies I stay, not signing I go but where, when and for what? Signing is like waiving a certain control of decision and postponing … further. Not terribly enticing.

Packages for expats were presented this, now past, week. I already reported earlier how difficult it had been for Natascha.
Salaries, various advantages, money in short were involved and on many occasions some people’s ugly sides surfaced. Strange (though, come to think of it, not so) it should come from people who do not belong to the lowest categories…
I happened to ask that our trips be clarified, should I sign now with 2 trips already booked and paid for: what would apply?
I happened to know that I should have kept quiet. Truth it the basis upon which comparisons are made has been changed and twisted so many times comparing what we currently have with new packages for trips is like comparing oranges vs bananas.
Truth is, what many want is, like we say, the butter and the money at which it was sold.
