U.S. Drops Tariffs on Roquefort - WSJ.com
“The European Commission and the U.S. announced a provisional agreement in a lengthy dispute over the European Union’s ban on hormone-treated beef. The deal ends for now the threat of retaliatory duties from the U.S. on EU products ranging from Roquefort cheese from France to Spanish hams and Italian mineral water. And it more than triples the amount of beef from cattle untreated by hormones that the U.S. can export to the EU. But it doesn’t address the main controversy: the U.S. practice of feeding hormones to cattle to make them bigger. The U.S. says beef from hormone-fed cattle is safe to eat. The EU says one of the hormones causes cancer and others pose a health risk.” – lelapin

I’m not quite sure about making money by “buying friends” on the other hand the person who left the second comment, Shannon, wrote interesting things in particular “sale of analytics & data analysis”: tweeters posts about brands, which clearly is advertisement, the best even. Providing companies with facts and figures about how much they are talked about and the impact of their products could very well be the way to generating some money. – lelapin

twittering can be serious too

April 7, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The other day, at Mr Jones, as I was ‘tweeting’ , twitting, twittering … whatever -ing that I wasn’t too happy about having the canopy, the roof drawn because some customer was afraid of the sun, I imagined that it, the restaurant’s personnel, might follow it and would behave accordingly (sorry ‘Lapin‘, we’re deeply sorry [insert reasons here]).

Of course nothing of such happened. Which doesn’t mean nobody actually follows my twits, who knows…

… Then I read this and that. Of course one could also have other considerations and usage with Twits. Like, for instance, taking orders. I wonder if any restaurant, hotel, shop of any kind thought of doing business using the technology. I sure would, with a little discount as incentive.
